Pediatric Physical Therapy at Gallant Therapy Services

Our Pediatric Physical Therapists (PTs) work directly with children and their families to help each child reach their highest level of independence and promote active participation in home, school, and community environments. Our PT program is designed for anyone 21 years of age or younger with movement/motor impairments including orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurologic, congenital, and developmental conditions.

Physical therapists work with children on:

  • Balance and coordination
  • Endurance
  • Gross motor skills
  • Movement and mobility including gait mechanics
  • Orthotics and prosthetics training and use
  • Posture and positioning
  • Flexibility
  • Strengthening

Outpatient physical therapy services may be indicated to further develop motor skills such as sitting, crawling, walking, or balancing. Other issues that may be addressed are a loss of range of motion, flexibility, or strength, possibly due to injury, illness, or surgery.

Treatment Options May Include:

  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Caregiver/patient education
  • Functional mobility training
  • Manual therapy techniques
  • Stretching/manual range of motion exercises
