Gallant Therapy Services' owner and president, Ryan Gallant, began his career when he was 18, job coaching and providing in-home supports for adults with disabilities. After graduating from the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelors in Health Science with a focus in Rehabilitation Counseling and a minor in Sociology, Ryan attended the University of Southern Maine where he obtained his Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Ryan then began consulting for agencies that support people with disabilities. Through this work, he recognized a need for services in the area for adults with disabilities who wanted to learn employment skills and contribute to the workforce. So in 2008, Ryan recruited an occupational therapy student, found space in his sister's dance studio, Dance Unlimited, and started Gallant Therapy Services!
Ryan thrived in the business of helping people and didn't stop looking for more ways to help his community. He recognized the need for therapy services for children with disabilities and opened the first GTS pediatric therapy clinic in Augusta in 2012. What started as humble beginnings of 2 has grown into a staff of over 120 amazing people, including Pediatric Occupational Therapists, Pediatric Speech Therapists, Direct Support Professionals, Behavioral Health Professionals, and Career Planners. Gallant Therapy Services now has three bright, spacious pediatric therapy clinics and four adult community supports programs throughout central Maine!
Gallant Therapy Services' amazing team and clients also work hard to give back to their community by volunteering at nursing homes, food banks, meals on wheels, community centers, and spending hours each week cleaning up local trails and sports fields! They also raise money for local sports teams and schools, Special Olympics, and many more. GTS is dedicated to serving central Maine communities by creating a supportive, inspiring place to work and helping our clients live life to the fullest.
