JOB CLUB Day Program

According to a new study, working age adults with intellectual disability (ID) are employed at less than half the rate of those without a disability! Employment is an important goal for improving the quality of life of adults with ID and developmental disabilities (DD), as it builds identity, self esteem, and independence. Gallant Therapy Services' Job Club program is specifically designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and adults with Autism who want to pursue employment or who have had difficulty maintaining employment in the past.

GTS Job Club staff are caring, attentive, Certified Direct Support Professionals who participate in monthly continuing education. DSPs specialize in assisting individuals with developing the skills needed to obtain and maintain competitive employment. Our clients learn the foundational skills that promote long-term success in competitive employment such as: basic work roles, social skills at work, expected appearance and hygiene, punctuality, attendance, and work values. The program prepares individuals to be ready for continuing their path towards employment within one year.

Community Support - Job Club

GTS Job Club clients build career skills by volunteering at community organizations and businesses, job shadowing and touring at area businesses, resume writing workshops, job search workshops, and mock interviews. The Job Club has been successful in assisting individuals with achieving their employment goals through collaboration with the Maine State Vocational Rehabilitation Department.

Individuals who are receiving MaineCare Section 21 or 29 services are eligible for our Job Club Program. There is a private pay option as well. GTS offers Job Club at 12 Shuman Ave., Augusta, ME, 840 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Oakland, ME, and 20 East Ave., Unit 34, Lewiston, ME. Our programs operate Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 1:30 and there are afternoon hours available at most locations.
